Temporary and learner's permit books, 1939-[ongoing].

The judge of probate may issue temporary instruction and learner's driving permits to those persons meeting certain qualifications (see Ala. Code, 32-6-8 [1975]). This series consists of copies of the permits issued by the probate judge and includes name of permittee, age, date of birth, permit number, and expiration date. This record began in 1939 and continues to the present.
